It's good to be the king.

I don't barter much, but there are 3 certain things I will barter for:
  1. Guitar lessons
  2. Haircuts & leg waxes
  3. Fresh veggies from the garden of my awesome friends Jen and James
Petri and I went to J&J's house yesterday, and look at this gorgeous bounty that we drove away with:

J&J were hosting their annual BBQ & Backgammon celebration, so I got hooked up with some serious BBQ eats in addition to the beautiful veggies. Did I score or what?

Last night my friends Mike and Dylan (Mike is Dylan's dad) came over and we enjoyed the pool at my apartment complex (now reopened after the vandalism!), then we went back to their place and ate a caprese salad from a tomato and the basil from above (with a little sea salt and balsamic to boot), and then Mike put the green beans in his pressure cooker with some bacon and onion and chicken broth, and we enjoyed it while watching "History Of The World, Part I".

I spent no money yesterday, nor the day before.

Also I recently completed this beloved Peter Pan puzzle that I've had since childhood... My home boasts about 15 jigsaw puzzles right now- I inherited a lot from a wonderful friend when she passed away in March, and I also gained 5 more when I recently when home to NJ to help my parents clear out their home in preparation to downsize. Every time I complete a puzzle I instagram it, then take it apart and donate it to Savers, but this will go in my permanent collection (I only have 2 puzzles that I keep and redo) since I've been doing this one since age 10. It's missing 5 pieces but it's dear to my heart. Puzzles are a great thing to do on a Spending Freeze because they are either free (borrowed from friends), or cheap if you buy them at thrift stores- before the Freeze I bought most of mine at Savers for $0.99 to $2.99 a pop. And, they are good for maintaining sharp brains!

The fridge is bursting with healthy and delicious food, and we have great friends. Petri and I are two lucky souls.
