New shoes because my doctor said so.

Yesterday I dropped off the little one at doggie day care (Petri likes Woof's in Merriam), asked them for a nail trim (I'm too chicken shit to cut my own boy's nails for fear of hurting him), and headed to my chiropractor, Dr. Sara, who confirmed that the pain in my left heel is indeed Achilles tendonitis, and that it indeed is because of the fact that I am wearing unsupportive shoes, which is killer on my flat feet. How unsupportive are my shoes, you ask? Every time I whisper my hopes and dreams to them, they light another cigarette and calmly tell me that I'll amount to nothing.

Dr. Sara gave me foam rolling, stretching and icing assignments, as well as her blessing for me to buy a pair of Reefs (see?! A DOCTOR said I could buy clothing!), and also some arch support inserts for my sneaks and my white canvas shoes (which are adorbs but are pancake-flat on the bottom). I bought the Reefs last night on the Reef website, and up popped a thing that said "sign up with your email for $10 off your first order!" ...Saved ten bucks there. I'm going to buy the inserts on Amazon with a credit, so those should be free!

Check out dese bad mofes.

Then I went to work with one of my favorite clients. I know I'm not supposed to have favorites but pssssh, come on, we business owners all do: She's a delightful human being, incredibly generous, she appreciates decluttering as much as organizing, and she makes me feel valued. It was a hugely productive session. We gave her garage a tune up and swept it out, then we got started on a big project: The photos! Most of my clients have several boxes of old photo prints sitting in storage. So we are sorting them into years as we go (she has a gift for looking at a photo and being able to say the year it was taken using quick mental detective work). She's purging all the blurries and the red-eyes; and then we're going to preserve them all digitally. Such fun!

After work I picked up my little one, who was all a'wag after his long day of playing with other pups, and we drove home and had a quiet night in- my heel was hurting pretty badly, so I made a little supper (heated up BBQ that Jen & James gave me on Sunday- YUM), did Dr. Sara's recommended routine, and went to bed early.

My brother Sam and his girlfriend Laurie are ENGAGED and getting married in the fall of 2018! :) They announced it last night on sosh-meeds (social media, for you uncool people)- then at night my cousin Sandy went over to their apartment (they all live in DC) and they Facetimed me in for a celebratory drink! I had a bottle of wine on hand (a freebie, of course) and I had a glass (fine, maybe two) and talked about wedding stuff. They have told me that they read this blog, so... CONGRATS AGAIN, YOU TWO!
